Event Details

We’ve got a really exciting evening planned for February's Esc Wednesday - our special guests are the co-founders of an exciting internet start-up called Kicktable. They'll be sharing their corporate escape stories and their start-up story so far. Then we'll have a big Q&A.

UPDATE - unfortunately Matt has been urgently called to Belgium and so George will be manning this Esc Wednesday solo. Don't worry though - he'll have more than enough advice and answers to go round!

Introducing Kicktable: Do what you like. Share what you love. Discover & book unique experiences hosted by passionate people: http://www.kicktable.com/

5 Reasons why you should join us for the talk and Q&A:

  1. because you want to escape your corporate job and start something you love
  2. because you want to hear what it takes to get a startup from idea to launch
  3. because you have a passion or talent and you want to start making money by doing it
  4. because you believe that what makes you happy is what you experience, not what you own
  5. because we are coming all the way from Brussels, Belgium!
Meet Matt and George:

Matt is a co-founder of Kicktable. Prior to Kicktable, Matt created the Jojo project an eco-friendly shoe brand company. He also worked as an investment banker in London (ING) and Paris (Bryan Garnier). Matthieu has always been passionate about business. He got his first subscription to a business magazine at the age of 11. Matthieu has one big goal in his life: to make the most of it

George: is a co-founder of Kicktable. Prior to that, George worked as a management consultant at Bain & Company and as an investment banker at JP Morgan. In the midst of the 2008 financial crisis, he also created the Fairstreet project, a learning expedition in South America to produce short documentaries on social entrepreneurship, innovation and ethical finance. Today, George continues to explore, dream and discover

Escape the City - The Escape School

The Escape School is Escape the City's events arm.

We put on courses, events and meetups aimed at educating and empowering corporate professionals for alternative career paths, entrepreneurialism and adventure.

There is so much rubbish career and startup advice out there. So many unhelpful myths. We are building the Escape School to teach what we wish we’d learnt back in 2009 when we were stuck… sitting glumly on the Tube wondering how on earth to get out.

If Escape the City is a community that helps corporate professionals ‘do something different’ then the Escape School is where we engage closely with you (in the real world). It has been founded with one single objective: to help you grapple with that huge, scary, unmanageable yet exciting question: “What Next?"
